I design and ship production-grade distributed systems for government and regulated-industry clients — then I go further. I own the entire path from the first architecture sketch to a live, secured application, on its own domain, with real payments running. One engineer, the whole delivery.
Six-plus years building distributed systems in Java and Spring Boot for enterprise clients across the public sector and regulated industries — the kind of environment where a bug isn't an inconvenience, it's a compliance incident. I've modernized legacy government infrastructure, shipped event-driven platforms handling high-volume operational data with Apache Kafka, and built a real-time Augmented Reality field app that runs geospatial math directly on the device. Oracle Certified Java SE 8. I write code that survives contact with production — and I stand behind it after go-live.
Most engineers hand you a repo and walk away. I don't. I take a project from the first whiteboard sketch to a live application with its own domain, valid TLS certificates, and — when you need it — a working payment system. One accountable person, instead of five vendors to coordinate. The two demo projects below aren't slideshow mockups: they're live right now, running on infrastructure I built and operate myself — an online shop and an online booking system.
From the data model and API design to the interface real users touch — one engineer across the entire stack, so nothing gets lost in translation between teams.
Docker and Docker Compose, orchestrated on infrastructure I control — no dependency on expensive third-party platforms for a project that doesn't need one.
Domain setup, Cloudflare DNS, and a Caddy reverse proxy that issues and renews HTTPS certificates automatically — no manual renewals, no expired certificates catching you off guard.
Login, user/admin roles, and API security handled through Keycloak / OAuth2 — the same standard I use on enterprise-grade government systems.
A self-hosted payment system: invoices, cryptographically signed webhooks, idempotent payment confirmation. No dependency on a third-party processor sitting between you and your funds.
Monitoring, backups, demo data seeding, ongoing updates — a project I ship is a project I keep running, not one I abandon at go-live.
Backend and full-stack delivery across enterprise programs for the Romanian government and regulated industries. Selected work:
Designed two Maven multi-module microservices (AMBP-INEMRCM,
SPA-Servicii), eight modules each: domain, DTO, mapper, business, REST,
client, and Liquibase. Migrated a legacy schema with composite primary
keys to modern JPA (@EmbeddedId / @IdClass),
with carefully implemented equals/hashCode to
keep the persistence context consistent. Bridged compliance-locked
PL/SQL stored procedures via @NamedStoredProcedureQuery and
the EntityManager API. Liquibase tracks every schema change
for a full migration history in a regulated domain.
Built in Ionic 7 / Angular 17 / Capacitor 6. Implemented a real-time Augmented Reality overlay projecting points of interest onto the camera view using GPS and device-orientation sensors, smoothed with a low-pass filter to handle sensor noise. Integrated an OpenLayers map with multiple layers and custom projections, plus geospatial polygon processing (clipping, intersection, area calculation) with offline-first storage. The hardest engineering trade-off: keeping the AR feed and the map data aligned to the same coordinate reference frame in real time.
Built event-driven microservices in Spring Boot 3.4 (Java 17) using Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams. Implemented polyglot persistence — MongoDB for high-volume operational data, PostgreSQL for transactional records. Migrated the communication service to Spring Boot 3.4 with the OAuth2 Resource Server (Jakarta EE namespace, the new Spring Security model).
Across the board: containerized services with Docker and Docker Compose, Keycloak authentication, REST API design, unit and integration testing with JUnit and Mockito, and close collaboration with product, QA, and ops in agile teams.
An intensive Java traineeship covering OOP principles, data structures, multithreading, and the Java framework ecosystem. Completed the program and earned the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer certification — the credential that led directly into my engineering role at SIMAVI.
Operations, analytics, and customer-facing roles in logistics (Fast Freight — international freight forwarding, Romania–Spain) and digital media (WalletHub — content analytics with Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools), before transitioning into software engineering in 2018.
A few systems I've built — from enterprise platforms to fully self-hosted demo projects, deployed and operated end to end.
